The Housing Options Easy Read Site

Extra care housing and cluster flats are supported housing where people have their own flats in a development with others.

There are usually communal eating and social facilities.

Older people without a disability also live in extra care housing but there are schemes just for people with a learning disability.

There is usually 24 hour support available in extra care housing and cluster flats.

People are tenants so their rent and care is paid for separately, this means that people are entitled to the full range of benefits.

Extra care and cluster flats are good if you want your own home but want the security and company of others around you.
