The Housing Options Easy Read Site

Supported living means that you are supported to live in the way that you want.

Your housing and support is built around you rather than you fitting in to a service.

You choose who you live with (if anyone).

You choose where you live.

You choose who supports you and how you are supported.

In supported living, people are supported to take control of their life.

Supported living is not just for people who are 'able'. Anyone, regardless of their ability, can be supported to live in their own home with the right support.

There are some standards called REACH that tell you how to check if your service is really supported living. You can get them from Paradigm.
