The Housing Options Easy Read Site

Shared Ownership means you buy part and rent part of your home.

Shared Ownership does not mean you have to share with other people though you can if you want to.

You can get Shared Ownership through a housing association or a charity like Golden Lane Housing.

For many people who are receiving Income Support, mortgage interest can be paid up to £100,000 –called Income Support Mortgage Interest (ISMI).

Housing Benefit will usually pay your rent.

More and more people with a learning disability in the UK are starting to buy their own homes through Shared Ownership.
